QCHS CHEER finished up their last practice tonight before heading into the State Spirit Competition tomorrow in Ft. Worth. Good luck, Ladies!

Check out that clarinet section! Three members of the BOC were selected to the Texas All-State Band after auditioning on Saturday, Jan. 7th. Preston Scoggins, Kaylin Butler, and Alyssa Delgado will perform in San Antonio on Feb. 11th at the TMEA Convention. Great job, Bulldogs!

Students from MUMS and QCHS delivered the toys they collected to the Toys for Tots local coordinator, Meagan Adcock this morning. Thank you to everyone who donated toys for children in Cass County.


Students in Mrs. McCall's classes had fun creating gingerbread men this week!





Last Friday 5 first-year QCHS FFA members traveled to Lindale to participate in the Area 6 Greenhand Camp! Students attended leadership workshops, discovered opportunities in FFA, and made new connections with FFA members across the area. Hunter Griggs won the "Most Outstanding Camper" award as well! This award was given to one of the over 180 campers in attendance! We are proud of our new members for stepping out of their comfort zone and becoming better leaders!

QC Admin had the cutest carolers in the county this morning! Thanks Mrs. Duke for sharing your Pre-K babies with us!



Merry Christmas from the QCHS Art Department. Students in Mrs. Hollis' Art classes worked to design and create Christmas cards for some nursing home residents this year. Great job, Bulldogs!

Congratulations to Senior Kaden Fincher on being selected as a 2nd Team Academic All-State recipient. Requirements to receive this recognition include
being a senior athlete, student trainer, or manager in good standing with the team, being of good moral character, and having an overall grade point average of 92 or above.

Anthony Castleberry received his Adobe certification in Visual Design in Photoshop last week. Congratulations, Anthony!

Members of the JKH 3rd and 4th grade Music Memory Teams joined together to form the JKH Vocal Ensemble and performed at the Christus St. Michael - Atlanta Tree Lighting Ceremony Monday night under the direction of Mr. Tomkins.


Queen City High School is pleased to announce that Anthony Castleberry has been selected as a National QuestBridge Match Scholarship Recipient. Anthony was matched with Grinnell College. Grinnell is a private college in Iowa where Anthony will major in Computer Science. Anthony's scholarship package from Grinnell College is for the amount of $78,528 per year for a total of $314,112 over four years.
QuestBridge is a national program that connects high-achieving high school seniors with full four-year scholarships to 48 of the nation’s best colleges. Out of over 17,900 applicants, QuestBridge selected 5,613 Finalists to be considered for the QuestBridge National College Match Scholarship. This year, QuestBridge’s 48 college partners matched with 1,755 Finalists, who are recognized as Match Scholarship Recipients. This is the highest number of Match Scholarship Recipients to date for QuestBridge.
“This record-breaking result further motivates us to help outstanding students obtain the top education that they deserve,” said Ana Rowena Mallari, Co-Founder, and CEO of QuestBridge. “These bright and motivated students have a determination to succeed that will help them thrive well beyond their college years, and we’re excited to see where their dreams take them next.”
Match Scholarship Recipients are admitted early to QuestBridge college partners with full four-year scholarships that are provided by the colleges and universities, ensuring for these students and their families that an education at a top college can be affordable. The Match Scholarship is offered as part of a generous financial aid package provided by the college that covers the full cost of attendance, including tuition, room and board, books and supplies, and travel expenses.
This year’s Match Scholarship Recipients come from 49 states, the District of Columbia, and the territories of Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and Puerto Rico.
Queen City ISD is very proud of Anthony for the hard work he did to complete this process and congratulates him on being chosen for this scholarship.

Congratulations to Morris Upchurch Middle School for bringing home 1st place in today's District 14-3A Academic UIL Meet! Great job, Bulldogs. Congratulations to Atlanta and Red Lick on their 2nd and 3rd place finishes!


The QCHS Lady Bulldog Athletic Department hosted the Jackie Jones Memorial Tournament just before the Thanksgiving Break. Mrs. Jones was a QCISD board member for many years and a faithful fan of the Bulldogs. Her daughter Jarnisha Savage was on hand to toss the jump ball starting the Queen City vs. Pleasant Grove game.


QCHS is using the talent of its students to keep the high school decorated for Fall. Check out the floral arrangements created by Ms. Thompson's Floral Design classes and the artwork from Mrs. Hollis' Art students!
